Decompression therapy available at Comprehensive Chiropractic
Nonsurgical spinal decompression is a non-invasive, low force, the procedure for applying axial traction to the spine. Decompression works by gently stretching the spine, removing pressure from the vertebral discs of the spine and allowing them to more adequately absorb nutrients from the surrounding tissues and blood supply. This re-establishes a healthy flow of nutrients, water, and oxygen into the disks of the spine. We have Cervical and Lumbar decompression available at our office.
Decompression therapy is a leader in low back pain treatment
This form of treatment can be used for patients with back and neck pain associated with disc degeneration, disc herniation, facet syndrome, spinal stenosis, and radiculopathy. This therapy is ideal for many patients that otherwise may require spinal decompression surgery or are not candidates for manual adjusting. This technique can also be used in conjunction with manual adjusting for great results and hydration of the vertebral discs.
Why decompression therapy for pain?
Decompression therapy relieves and promotes the best possible healing environment for bulging, degenerating, or herniated discs. Spinal decompression therapy is designed to isolate and focus on the problem of compression. It has revolutionized the care of herniated discs, sciatica, and disc degeneration and failed back surgery.
What is done during a decompression treatment?
Patients lay face up and fully clothed on a digital motorized decompression table. The doctor is able to digitally adjust the weight of the axial pull on the mechanical decompression machine for different poundage for each person. The table rises and lowers to align you with the decompression machine. Depending on your treatment, a simple harness will wrap around your head or trunk. Treatment can last between 10-20 minutes long, dependent on each patient’s treatment plan.
